About the Program
The Youth Development Academy is the first step in the competitive pathway. It is an 8-month season with built-in breaks and flexible attendance periods. Training is twice a week and is led by professional USSF-licensed coaches.
Teams of 12-14 are built and compete in the OYSA fall and spring Development League, playing games on Sundays at Delta Park. Teams can also expect to participate in 1 or 2 summer jamborees, with the summer period also serving as an opportunity for coaches to observe players for team placement in August.
WEST REGISTRATION
YDA WEST Program
The Youth Development Academy (YDA) program is primarily run during the summer, fall, and spring seasons, with an optional winter session. The summer/fall is a combined season with two training sessions per week and a summer jamboree. During the fall season, training continues twice weekly, and games are played in the OYSA Development League. The winter sessions are limited to one session per week and a winter jamboree. The spring season moves back to twice-a-week training in the OSYA Development League. Players in this program can play year-round or choose the best season for their needs, allowing them to participate in other activities. The YDA program is designed to bridge the gap between recreational and competitive soccer by helping players transition to competitive play at U11.
